Modern, safe and fully fit for summer
During summertime, the La Mole airport is an important traffic junction for holidaymakers in Saint-Tropez. Most of the 4000 flights each year are in July and August. At the moment, construction work is underway to modernise the airport. We spoke with the director, François André.
Med almost claims third victim in a week
To the unwary visitor the Mediterranean Sea may appear like a benign blue haven in the current heat wave, but this almost land-locked body of water needs to be treated with the same respect as its more powerful ocean cousins. In less than a week two people have drowned and yesterday a tourist nearly lost her life in La Croix-Valmer in the Var.

BB outraged at another needless death
Two months after a wild boar was rescued from the sea and then shot by the authorities, a roe deer with a broken leg has met a similar fate incurring the wrath of the Côte d’Azur’s most famous animal rights defender. Brigitte Bardot has fired off another angry letter to the Alpes-Maritimes’ Prefect Francis Lamy expressing the outrage that many in the region feel about the needless deaths of these wild animals.

Yesterday (9 July 2010) we took a 4-5 hour hike into the mountains near Ceillac. Good exercise, lovely trails, gorgeous mountain wildflowers, and a spectacular “mirror” lake.
