Art thieves in court
During a gripping art theft in August 2007, five men robbed four masterpieces by Monet, Sisley and Brueghel from the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Nice. Ten months later, they were trapped by an undercover FBI agent in Marseille and led straight into the arms of French police. The five men went on trial on Monday 28th November in Aix-en-Provence, where their fate hangs in the balance.
First in Europe: Sophia Antipolis school launches electronic bike scheme
SKEMA Business School in Sophia Antipolis has paired up with Clean Energy Planet in a bid to make students more environmentally friendly. A new self-service bike system has been introduced to the school’s campus, giving youngsters a chance to do their bit for the planet.
Third fatal shooting in a week
One man has died and another remains in a serious condition after a third shoot-out of the week occurred in Marseille last night. French TV reported this morning that score settling may behind the third murder in five days.
